UPDATED - Family field trip to Nunobiki Waterfalls

Our family hike has been rescheduled to Saturday 5 October.

 Grades 3 & 4 would again like to invite all learners, parents and families to join us on this hike up Nunobiki Waterfalls! 

09:00 - 13:00.

 We are again asking all families who plan to attend on the 5th to complete this form so we can have an accurate idea of updated numbers.

The following information is a repost:
Grade 3 & 4 have been exploring ecosystems in their unit on Sharing the Planet. We have specifically been looking into producers, consumers and decomposers. 


We hope that this family event will give parents a unique opportunity to gain insight into our learning in a beautiful forested setting. We hope the environment will catylize discussion as learners are prompted to relate their understanding of ecosystems to what they notice around them.

DSKI learners may attend alone (please adhere to 09:00 drop-off / 13:00 pickup times) however we look forward to having parents, siblings and friends join us! 

Ms. J and Mr. Justin will be waiting outside Shin-Kobe station (near the busses) from 9am [a picture of the meeting spot is also attached]. 

We will depart at 9:20am.

The hike is roughly 2.5hrs round trip + 1hr for lunch at the top. Total distance is around 6 - 7km although some it this is uphill.
A vending machine is available about half way up.
Please bring: water bottles, hats, sunscreen and a packed lunch for everyone in your party. We have some picnic mats but you may also want to bring your own.

Dear Grade 3 families, We are now completing our first full week of learning online. It has been challenging and exciting and (I think) at times a little confusing. I really, really appreciate all your support as we adjust to our current circumstances. I wanted to say how proud I am of Grade 3 learners. They have shown themselves to be independent and Thinkers. I have seen some truly impressive and insightful work being shared over the past week. I am also impressed at how well and how quickly learners have developed the technology skills required to communicate and succeed in a virtual classroom. Stay stay, stay happy and health. Winter Trip health & safety update from the office

Dear parents of Grade 3 - 6, A message from the DSKI school office: Regarding the ski trip, we have confirmed today that there are no foreign groups booked at the Blue Ridge Resort next week, where our students will be staying. The first night they will be alone, and the next two, some Japanese guests will stay. They are not accepting bookings from Coronavirus affected areas. They also have all sensible precautions in place. So we are going to continue with the ski trip booking. If things do change between now and next week we will of course take action.

The Lion King

By now, we are certain you have heard Grade 3 & 4 are presenting The Lion King as the culminating project of our year-long drama unit (How We Express Ourselves). All DSKI learners and staff will have the opportunity to attend our full dress rehearsal assembly. We are having the main performance on Thursday 20th June at 19:00. This perfirmance is open to DSKI parents, friends and previous students. To support our seating planning - please complete this Google Form if you wish to attend. All Grade 3 & 4 learners will remain at school on the 20th to prepare for their big show. Dinner will be provided.
