Reading and performing
This week I have been sharing on a number of books by Roald Dahl.
Grade 3 decided on The Fantastic Mr. Fox for our first Read-Aloud of the year.
After reading a chapter entitled The terrible shovels, we froze in poses that created a picture of an important moment from the chapter. This is called classroom Tableau.
Making mental images is a strong skill that helps readers increase their understanding of a text. Good readers often have a mental movie that plays in their minds as they read and visualize what is described on the page.
In this tableau we have two angry diggers, Mr. Fox and his four scared children.
