More info on the Winter Camp (UPDATED)
Ski Trip Update
Dear Parents,
Some questions were raised during our presentation. The tour agency has got back to us about your queries.
1. Would the instructors speak English?
We were told that all the instructors only speak Japanese. To get around this issue, we will buddy- up our Japanese and non-Japanese speaking students during the lessons. We will also establish protocols involving basic hand signals and key phrases to communicate discomfort, anxiety or doubt to the instructors. We have two teachers in our group who speak Japanese - Ms.Rost and Ms.d'Amours. They will be on the slopes during the sessions.
2. Is the Onsen the only bathing facility in the hotel? Are there individual showers that teachers or students can use?
All rooms have ensuite shower rooms. All students and teachers have access to private showers. We have booked either the Tennessee or Georgia rooms which are western style rooms.
3. Would the students be able to dry their wet clothes/jackets at the end of the day to prepare for the following day?
Individual rooms have ventilation grilles near the entrance where students can hang their clothes for to dry.
4. Will bathrobes be provided?
The hotel provides slippers but not child-sized bathrobes. Please have your child bring his/her own if it is required.
5. Will dinner be buffet style?
Yes, all meals are buffet style meals. It is a good spread with options for all our students.
Please do not hesitate to email us if you have further queries. Here are some reminders about the trip:
Photocopy of Health Card
Please send in a photocopy of your child's health card to the class teacher by Friday, 15 February. For the G4/5/6 students who joined us for last year's Summer Camp, we still have copies of your health cards. However, please send in a copy just so we know that we have the most up-to-date ones.
Update Emergency Contact
If there should be changes, please update your child's emergency contact with the office and class teacher.
Medication
Please email the class teacher with instructions if your child needs support with taking medication during the trip.
