3 Way Conferences

A 3-Way Conference is a meeting between a child, the classroom teacher and the parents. It is an important opportunity for the parents, the child and the classroom teacher to discuss and agree on some clear goals for the child in the second term.

A typical 3-Way Conference:

Firstly, the child will explain in their own words what they have done since September, looking at strengths and what they need to focus on in the future.

Secondly, the parents have a chance to talk about their feelings on their child’s progress and raise any concerns or questions they may have.

Thirdly, the classroom teacher will feedback to the parents and child on the child’s progress since September.

Finally, the parents, child and the classroom teacher will come to an agreement on the action or learning goals for the second school term.
