Hats are back!

Dear Grade 3 families,

A reminder that when learners return from their Golden Week break on 7th May, they will need to wear hats on the playground during snack/lunch play times.

Learning from home in our virtual classroom

Dear Grade 3 families, We are now completing our first full week of learning online. It has been challenging and exciting and (I think) at times a little confusing. I really, really appreciate all your support as we adjust to our current circumstances. I wanted to say how proud I am of Grade 3 learners. They have shown themselves to be independent and Thinkers. I have seen some truly impressive and insightful work being shared over the past week. I am also impressed at how well and how quickly learners have developed the technology skills required to communicate and succeed in a virtual classroom. Stay stay, stay happy and health. I hope to see everyone again soon.

Grade 3 Assembly

On Wednesday 27 November 2019 the Grade 3 learners will host an assembly from 15:00 - 15:30 in the MPR. For this assembly, we would like to invite parents to be a part of the learning we are doing in our current How We Organise Ourselves unit. The assembly will showcase a provocation activity (for learners and parents to take part in) that is meant to disrupt and provoke our thinking on  how goods are exchanged . We hope you will enjoy the opportunity to experience learning as Grade 3 does in class and gain some insight into the value of these provocation activities. A further showcase of our entrepreneurial activities during this unit will take place at the DSKI Christmas market.

Geocaching Activity - Friday 31 January 2020 (action required)

In connection with our new Gr. 3 & 4 Unit on Maps and our first Line of Inquiry into interpreting maps, we are planning to go Geocaching! To learn more about Geocaching,  please visit this site . Details: 31 January 2020 from 11:10 - 12:30. Meet at DSKI school building. Similarly to our family hike at Nunobiki Waterfalls, we would like to extend an invitation to parents, siblings and friends to join us.  We are looking for some parents who would be able to act as team leaders. You will need to install the geocaching app onto a mobile device, with internet access, ahead of time. Then on the day supervise a small group of learners as the treasure hunt around the island for caches.
